The Careers Service is a department within the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED), a faculty focused on the achievement of student success at the University of Cape Town (UCT). We participate actively within the UCT entrepreneurship ecosystem as a whole, but specifically focuses on providing support to student entrepreneurs within that system. Students are encouraged to consider entrepreneurship as a career pathway whether this be their first or alternate choice relevant to employment. Self-employment, particularly in the area of Social Enterprise, and the creation of work for others directly alleviates poverty, stimulates the economy and can drive social change.
Entrepreneurial activity during your studies could enable you to generate an additional income and fast-track the process of becoming economically active. Click here to find out more about UCT's Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
As Careers Service, we offer practical and moral support to “studentpreneurs”, organise various events, workshops and webinars, and assist finalists in the annual EDHE Entrepreneurship Intervarsity.
